We have gone from "berry touch" (where the grapes are just starting to touch) to "berry closure" in just a few days. The growing conditions are perfect, and the progress of the grapes is remarkable.
We are really keeping our fingers crossed these conditions continue, and we see another incredible year for the Oregon wine grape harvest.
The next big event will be the first purple grapes. (Veraison, the technical name when the grapes start to turn color.) Last year we saw our first color change on July 29th...we will keep you posted on the blog as to how 2017 shapes up.) Cheers!
